A: Quite a lot of apps, actually:
Google Docs (Script)
Audacity (Voice Acting & Voice Editing)
ToonSquid (Animation)
Garageband (Soundtrack)
Kinemaster 6 Premium (Adding SFX)
As well as some other apps for more special cases:
Stop Motion Studio (Stop Motion Animation)
Procreate (Concept Art, Thumbnail Touchups, etc.)
Blender (3D Art)
I mainly use an IPad 9th gen (and 1st gen Apple Pencil), but also use my PC to operate Audacity and Blender.
A: Nope! The entire story for TAW is already planned out. Viewer voting would get in the way, unfortunately.
A: Not yet!
A: Auditions for voice acting may open some time in the future! But I'd like to be able to pay any VAs appropriately, which I am currently incapable of doing. For now, the answer has to be no.
Auditioning to animate is a firm no; the stress of having to manage a team like that would be way too much for something I consider a passion project.
A: Of course! I'm definitely not the first person to come up with sentient apps! Though, if you are heavily inspired by me, credit would be much appreciated!
A: YESYESYES THAT'D MAKE ME ULTRA HAPPY!!! For the highest chances of me seeing it, I recommend submitting it to the fanart form!
A: No, and there never will be. Moderation and general upkeep for something like that would unfortunately be way too much work.
The closest thing you can get to that are the comment sections on this website, episodes, and community posts!
Some further clarification on certain steps in the creation process.
One of the most important steps: writing the script for the episode! The entire outline for the series is complete, however, I write individual episodes only after I've completed the previous. I have more fun that way! (Fun Fact: I keep the wordbuilding, character info, and episodes all within a single google doc full of subtabs.)
Me, my sister, and occasionally other family members will gather around and scream into the mic for a few hours.
It's so very unproffesional but also so very fun, so who cares? :)
Basically the rough sketch of the entire episode. During this step, I put the voice lines together while figuring out the general postions and emotions of the characters.
The Finalizing process is made up of multiple smaller steps! These steps don't need to be completed in any particular order, but I'll list them in order of importance.
SOUND EFFECTS - pretty self explanatory. I get most of my SFX from Zapsplat.com!
QUALITY CHECKS - make sure animation errors are kept at a minimum
COMPOSING - make the background music for the episode.
THUMBNAIL - Decide what the thumbnail will be, and draw it.
From the early days of creation!
The first concept for The App Wars logo, made in Procreate! What I find funny is that in some ways, I kind of prefer this one because of the shading. Unfortunately I struggled to achieve the same look while keeping each part vector in the final logo. Either way i'm happy with both!
Bedazzling in progress...
